Injuries (Draft)

Injuries have specific reporting requirements and treatment locations based on the type of injury and affiliation with Pitt. Please read the entirety of this page for reporting and treatment site details. Additional resources for emergency injury response and animal facility injuries may be found in the side bar or at the bottom of this page. 

Medical Emergency: If you or someone else is experiencing a medical emergency, please call campus police at 412-624-2121 for immediate assistance. If off campus, please call 911.

Staff, Faculty, and Graduate Student Worker Injuries

For work-related injury or illness: 

  • First seek out appropriate medical treatment.
  • Notify your supervisor and call WorkPartners at 1-800-633-1197; as soon as possible. 
  • Fill out an EH&S Incident Report Form.
  • Medical care must be provided by one of the designated providers for the first 90 days.
  • In case of an emergency, you may seek treatment at the closest Emergency Department for your initial care, but additional medical treatment is to be obtained from one of the University’s designated providers.
  • Note to Supervisors: If the employee is incapacitated, you are to ensure a claim is called in to WorkPartners on their behalf.

Student Injuries

Medical Emergency: If emergency medical attention is needed (or requested by the injured student) immediately call Pitt Police at 412-624-2121.
